The Lebanon Township Museum at New Hampton is a charming historical gem nestled on the picturesque banks of the Wild and Scenic Musconetcong River. This 200-year-old, two-room schoolhouse, crafted from lime rock and stucco, stands as a testament to New Jersey's rich heritage. Constructed around 1825 on land generously donated by Henry Dusenbery, it is one of the few remaining stone schoolhouses from the early 1800s in the state.

Through its thoughtfully curated collection, engaging exhibits, educational programs, and vibrant events, the museum creates meaningful connections among visitors. Art and artifacts are skillfully used to honor local lives and legacies, showcasing their enduring impact on the community.

In the museum's yard, you'll find the Carriage Shed Museum Annex, featuring interactive permanent exhibits for both enjoyment and education. Discover a beautifully restored bobsleigh, once used as one of the area's first school buses, marvel at beams from the historic Changewater dam, and explore medical artifacts from the New Jersey State Sanatorium for Tuberculosis.
