MAYO Performing Arts Center

100 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960

973-539-0345

The Community Theatre, built in 1937, was designed by Thomas W. Lamb, a leading theater and cinema architect of the twentieth century. Up until the 1980s, the Theatre was the crown jewel of Walter Reade’s chain of movie theatres in New Jersey. In 1994, the Theatre reopened as a performing arts center with a gala performance featuring the Kirov Orchestra and pianist Alexander Slobodyanik.

In 2011, the Theatre officially changed its name to Mayo Performing Arts Center, honoring the leadership of Bud Mayo. The Mayo Performing Arts Center presents a wide range of programs that entertain, enrich, and educate the diverse population of the region and enhance the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey.
